Mother’s Day

2008 April 17

You know it’s right around the corner, right?  Don’t let it sneak up on you!  um…you know, like I usually do :)   So this year I’m ready for once.  I made a very simple card, but I think it looks great and I hope my Mom loves it.  She loves purple and flowers so this seemed fitting.  The flowers are Jolee’s Boutique I think – but can’t swear.  I took it out of it’s package some time ago when I bought it and stuffed it into my Crop in Style PSB and promptly forgot about it.  I love that thing, but seriously – out of sight, out of mind.

I stamped the beautiful sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it using Whispers Gold EP.  I was so happy to discover you could emboss the Bazzill Bling – it’s shimmery and so is the emobossing and it gives it such a classy look.

The stamp is from an Inque Boutique set called Springtime Swirls and you can see the full set here.  It’s a very versatile set for cards and scrapbook pages…and you oughtta know how much I love IB by now.

In other news…momma’s gettin’ a new camera!  My sweet little girl accidentally dropped our little point and shoot camera while the zoom lens was extended so while it can still take pictures, it doesn’t zoom and they’re awful.  I’ve wanted to go to the next level with photography and get into SLR but I knew it just wasn’t in the budget yet.  It was something on the back burner – but this opened that possibility up sooner than expected.  We decided that since that’s what I want to do there wasn’t much point to getting another “point and shoot”…so we made some budget adjustments and saved up.  Today I placed an order for a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT in black.  I’m getting it with the basic kit lens to get me started.  I’ve been reading a great book specifically for the camera and I’m just so excited to know it’s on the way and soon I will have it and begin a new journey.  I hope to at the very least, take better pictures of my cards and scrapbook pages! I have so much to learn, but I’m eager and more than willing!
