Parents in town!

2009 June 16
by mitzikoons

I know I haven’t posted for awhile…my parents are arriving today from Colorado to spend the week with us and I cleaned up my crafty stuff to get ready.  So – there won’t be anything new for a bit…boo-hoo – but I know we will have  an awesome time with them.  I only get to see them once a year so I treasure it – even though the time flies by way too fast.

In the meantime – there is a fabulous sketch challenge over at Stamp Something and DogGone Stamps is sponsoring it!  You’ll want to check that out – I printed off the sketch so I could play -but unfortunately – it will be after they are gone.  I’ll need some crafty time to pick me back up :)

I’m also working on a new blog.  I like WordPress and all – but with Blogspot you can customize your template more and it has that great Followers feature that I really like – the new link will be www.mitzikoons.blogspot.com and it’s going to be called Stamps Jubilee.  I’ve always liked that sentiment on the header and found that cute design at The Cutest Blog on the Block.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Flower Girl

Here’s a new card!  YAY!!  lol…  I used Flower Girl from DogGone Stamps and some Summer Flower Soft.  It adds a nice realistic touch to the card and I love it!

She also has some glitter on her wings.  I traced the lines of the wings in Certainly Celery and then added glitter.  I definitely like this one better IRL…and now that I’m looking at it – I could have added more Flower Soft around the edges of the word beautiful – but I really like to focus on the image.  She really is beautiful!

Here’s a few cards I had the privelege of creating using some fabulous stamps from QKD!  They sponsored a regular feature at SNR called 1 Stamp 3 Ways where 3 staff members get to create projects using two stamps from a company.  The results are varied and so much fun to see how the different staffers use the same stamps.  Here’s mine -

Isn’t he sweet! I do love Max – and you can find him, along with many other adorable stamps at DogGone Stamps!  For this card, I added Fun Flock to Max after stamping and coloring him in with a marker.  He’s ready to go for his morning walk!

I’m so happy to be able to finally shout it out!  I was accepted onto the new design team for Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff!

mlk_lss_duck

I made this little card to celebrate and kick things off.  Please take a look at Lindsay’s shop and tell me what you think!  I love Lindsay’s images – they are so much fun to work with!

Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff

It’s been raining most of the week so this little Rain Duck was perfect!  I printed him onto white cardstock and then also printed the image a few more times onto yellow and pink cardstock and some patterned paper.  Then I paper pieced all of the elements after cutting them out and then cut the entire image out.  He’s popped up on the background for some dimension.  I think he’s adorable!  I added a sentiment, some ribbon and that was that!

I want to congratulate the entire new design team!  I can’t wait to get to know all of you and I know I will enjoy working with you.  Please take some time to visit their blogs and congratulate them as well.  You will find their names on the sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by today to share my happy news!!

blogwalk_jamesduck

It’s Duck.  James Duck.  And he’s adorable!  He’s one of the newest stamps at DogGone Stamps.  I thought he looked like a mallard, so I colored him accordingly…maybe a little too green :)   You can also find the coordinating silhouette images of James Duck as well as the name stamp at DogGone Stamps.  The silhouettes are sold as a pair and all three images are designed to work together.  Stop by and pick up some of these awesome stamps for yourself today!  Can’t you just see this as a movie poster for his premiere event?  I think that’s the look I was going for with this card.  You can click on the image for a larger view.
